The dual drive feature increases storage capacity and also supports RAID 0 (striping), 1 (mirroring), and spanning, as well as "no RAID" mode for using the drives independently. The RAID mode can be configured on the frame, so that each inserted dual-SATA carrier will use that mode. Alternatively, if carriers with RAID configurability are used, the frame can be set to "no RAID" mode and RAID can be configured separately on each carrier. Carriers mount in most computer bays (PC and MAC), and the simple design of this enclosure makes swapping drives easy for additional storage. Multiple hard drives provide reliable and continuous data backup.
